Lottery Award

Great News – Shanklin Sailing Club wins Lottery Award!

I heard this week that we have been successful in our application for match funding from the National Lottery.

A selection of commercial and charitable sponsors have contributed generously this sponsorship once matched by Sport England gives the club the necessary funding to achieve our goal.

This will allow us to buy 5 training boats (Laser PICO’s) and train six volunteers in First Aid, Powerboat driving and as RYA recognized Dinghy Instructors. We will then be able to offer sailing courses at the club to children and adults, boat hire and even private tuition.

The volunteer instructors will complete their training in the next week and the boats are now on order. Hopefully we will be up and running by July.
