Trapezing for junior sailors

It has been suggested to me that we should allow junior sailors to use a trapeze. As of now, but subject to committee approval next month, we will allow any junior members to use a trapeze on a Sprint 15 at Shanklin Sailing Club as long as there is no adult on board the boat. This will apply to all races and can be single-handed, two-up and with or without jibs. Jibs may only be used in specified sport mode races, or in handicaps taking the sport mode handicap or when two people are on the boat.
This is on a trial basis and does not constitute a change to the rules or sailing conditions.

I really like this idea. I have had my kids and their friends trapezing and they love it, even if they swing around a bit and bash into the side before finding their balance.
If there are any kids interested in this format seriously we could train them to get the crew to do the main and traveller. That would be a significant improvement as youngsters (like me) find it quite strenuous on the main and traveller. Two hands would definitely be a help. For the PlayStation generation, controlling flying a hull must be quickly achievable!
I have a junior harness that I will hang up in the sail store for use by anyone wanting to use it (assuming my kids are not there - unlikely!!!). It has the quick release safety but parents, please be happy with this before strapping your kids in.
To go one step further - I would have no objection to any kids trapezing, even with adults. Their righting moment is so much less. I recall sailing in a Sprint race with Daisy crewing and trapezing. Due to the additional weight, we were a long way off the pace downwind but she had a great time.
Whatever we can do to encourage the next generation...
