Strava Leader board

Hi All,

Strava is basically a cycling app that tracks speeds across segments. I have created an SSC club and, to date, I am not sure this is route related or point to point. However, I have started to set up "segments" and record my times. All you need is an iPhone of recently capable android and you are all go (waterproof bag if you are going to get wet).

We also have races set up (Sunday and Thursday at the moment) and again, I am not sure how this works...

As an example, from 5 to 7 on Sunday, I beat Simon by a small but welcome 9s from 5 to 9 on Sunday. Brilliant for a bit analysis to paralysis if you have a spare hour or two!

If you want to join, pls pm me with your email address and I will add you to the "Beta" group. This is restricted from outside of SSC, Sean

Strava for me thanks but I am sure there are lots of apps to suit people with different interests.

I have given in.

It appears to take data in GPX format which my watch uses.

Not sure Strava gets its speeds right.

My computer says top speed of 14.8 knots in the Fox 2 Up. Strava has 28.9 mph (25.1 knots). That's Extreme 40 speed.

Is that because you have your measurement thing on a flappy arm? iPhone (Simon) and Android (me) have shown no irregularities.

BTW, looks like membership is increasing with Tony joining :D

According to Strava I did 60mph and Sean only did 20 in race 5.

According to my computer I only did 16 knots though. One of them may be wrong.

Distances covered so far in the Nationals: 54 nautical miles.

So I have been trying for months to break 20 and as soon as I get 20.4mph you go and decimate me with 60!
