Shanklin Sailing Club

The season starts on Sunday. Or for those of us that don't stop sailing because of Winter, the racing season starts on Sunday. Looks like we will have a decent breeze.

There will be a briefing at 9.30 in the club house.

The first race is a Pursuit with a beach start: see http://www.shanklinsailingclub.com/cont ... _times.php . Each helmsman has his or her own start time ranging from 10 minutes to 0. You need to know what your start time is. If you are starting early it is vital you learn the course.

Craig needs to be on the normal start line at 9.50am and will be given a 1 minute warning by the safety boat (if all goes to plan).

The Preston race will start directly after the Pursuit.

If anybody wants to take part in the Odds and Ends (also after the Pursuit) on a Pico then they need to get their boat ready at some point - I would suggest before Sunday. It now costs £5 per day to hire a Pico.

Would be nice if you had ordered some warmer weather , mind you I am sure the sarcasm will warm the atmosphere up a bit

Really encouraged by the standard of sailing all round in some fairly challenging conditions. The buoys were a bit tricky to locate in the swell.

Hope we can get some sun soon so the fair weather sailors can come out too.
