Yaverland Race

The race on Sunday 21st May is the Yaverland Race. The start time is 9.30am.

The course will be shown on the board in the club house before the start of the race. The finish line will be a transit of Buoy B and the white line and red triangle on the race box, unless it is shortened before that point.

The 35 minute rule does not apply to this race. The two hour race limit does apply.

The race coincides with the Shanklin rowing regatta which we must avoid.

The following is a change to the Sailing Instructions for this race.

" Except at the initial start to the race, the following will be classed as obstructions:
Any vessel competing in the rowing regatta
Any vessel acting as a support vessel, or committee vessel in the regatta
Any buoys laid as part of the rowing regatta.

Any boat sailing within 10 meters of these obstructions will be disqualified without a hearing. This applies to boats returning to the shore after the race."

The obstructions above may be on one end of the finish line. There should be sufficient room on the shore-end of the line without entering the 10 meter zones of these obstructions.
