Arc Royal

Have been giving some thought to how to modify the Arc Royal.

A thought today was 4 hulls, giving the beast more buoyancy, adding a couple of extra cross beams, shaping them to sit on the hulls, a bit of padding then just using scaffold boards for the deck with a half inch gap between them.

:geek: :!: :?:

The deck would be a lot lighter, with the extra cross beams pretty strong.

Loosing the anchors remotely from the safety boat is the crucial bit, so's no-one is on deck when the chains go overboard. Perhaps with the use of a 'Mooring Hitch', having suspended the concrete tyres from the 'Arc'. The lobster fisherman dragged overboard by his own pot-line would approve, he thought he'd had it. He only got rescued from drifting out into the 'English Channel' as darkness fell inadvertently. The weight of the concrete tyres would overwhelm any life jacket you'd care to throw at it.
