Covid Committee Update
Dear SSC MembersFollowing the changes to national guidelines and restrictions the Covid Committee met on line to look at latest guidance from the RYA and decide the implications for Shanklin Sailing Club.
Clubhouse, Sailing and Boat Park.
The RYA guidance states
- • “outdoor sports centres and amenities (which includes sailing clubs and watersports centres) will have to close"
Consequently, recreational sailing and access to the club and boat park is suspended until further guidance is issued early in December.
AGM
The AGM scheduled for Sunday 22nd November at the Conservative club is cancelled. As the accounts, nominations and end of season reports have all been prepared the committee has decided to conduct a paper AGM process. All the relevant paperwork will be circulated along with a voting form to decide on any issues and an option to submit questions. The committee feel that it is important to complete the AGM within our regular cycle so that we can continue to have elected officers and a committee to address regular changes in national guidance.
Thank you once again for your patience and understanding during these challenging times. Although we are fortunate on the Island to have relatively low Covid cases we have all seen the increases during the last few weeks. The committee will continue to keep members up to date with developments, we can hope that we will be back with our boats and potentially sailing before Christmas.
Please stay safe with your families and do not hesitate to ask questions through Sue – s.dyer616@gmail.com.
